Emmen Industry

The gas treatment plant (GZI) in Emmen is being converted into a GZI Next Energy Hub. An at least 4 MW electrolyser is being constructed to produce green hydrogen from green electricity. This will be transported from the GZI next complex to the industry park GETEC PARK.EMMEN via a newly constructed pipeline, thus making a significant contribution to the greening of industrial consumption of natural gas. GETEC’s gas turbine will be adapted to supply “green” steam to the industry at the park. In addition, a hydrogen refueling station is being built to supply green hydrogen to 10 hydrogen buses (bringing the total number of hydrogen buses in Groningen and Drenthe to 30).
